Absorbency
54 fl oz ISO 11948-1
Approximated real-life capacity
16 fl oz
Calculated, not measured: approximated from this product's ISO total of 54 fl oz.
Capacity is published two ways: ISO 11948-1 soaks the whole product in salt water (the lab total), DIN 13222 puts it on a test torso and adds liquid until it leaks (closer to use).
Across 280 products whose makers publish both, the second follows a curve: about a third of the ISO total for smaller products, falling to about 28 % at 5,150 ml.
The curve is typically within 12 %, but one product in ten is off by more than 30 %, and what a diaper holds in real use depends on far more: fit, body position, how fast and how often.

Description
ABENA San is Abena's complete Premium range of anatomically shaped bladder-protection pads (14 absorbency levels, light to very heavy). The high-performance core with Top-Dry technology gives fast absorption and a dry surface even after multiple voids. Pads have a cotton-feel, fully breathable backsheet foil, standing leakage barriers plus front and rear built-in cross barriers for 360° leakage protection, a wetness indicator with graduation scale, and odour control. From level 5 upward the product must be used with fixation underwear (e.g. Abena's Abri-Fix pants) rather than an outer plastic brief, since the pad itself has no waterproof shell or waistband.
